Paying cash at a meeting

What happens when you hand cash to an officer, and how to confirm it was recorded.

At some meetings you can pay in cash — dues, levies, savings, welfare, a donation or a loan repayment. You can also pay by card or bank transfer, even at the same meeting.

What to expect

  • The officer chooses your name and writes a receipt for what you handed over.
  • You are credited immediately, and you get a notification (and an email if your account has one) with a receipt number.
  • Your balances update straight away. Check them under What you owe.

Always ask for confirmation

Before you leave, wait for the notification, or ask the officer to show you the receipt. If you don't get one, tell the officer. If an officer cancels a receipt (for example, it was written against the wrong person), you are told why and your balance goes back.

See your cash payments in your payment history; the method shows as cash.
