Handing over at the end of the day
Record how much cash you handed to the office, what the difference means, and what happens if you are short.
At the end of the day you give the cash you took to the circle's office. In the app, you record how much you handed over. An officer then counts it, and that count is what turns your day's records into confirmed savings.
Before you start
- Record every payment first. Anything not recorded will not be in your handover.
- Have the cash you are handing in, and an officer ready to count it.
- You can hand over once a day for each circle. After that, you cannot record cash for that day.
Hand over

When you record a handover, the screen tells you what you collected, what you handed over, and the difference. If they match, the difference is zero.
If you are short
If you hand over less than you collected, the difference is shown to the officer who counts, and you should write a Note saying why. For example, you collected ₦7,000.00 but one saver's ₦1,000.00 is still with you, so you hand over ₦6,000.00 and write "Chukwuemeka's ₦1,000.00 is still with me. I will bring it in the morning."
- The officer counts what you handed over and leaves that payment unticked.
- That payment stays Cash received, awaiting confirmation.
- Tomorrow it is carried over: it appears under Carried over and is added to what you collect, so tomorrow's handover is ₦1,000.00 higher than tomorrow's own cash.
Be honest in the note. The record shows exactly what was said and counted, and an honest short handover with a reason is far safer for you than a missing amount nobody can explain.
What happens next
An officer counts your handover, usually the next morning. The payments they tick become Confirmed, your savers get receipts, and the day's figures are final. You can see it on Recorded today and in your handover history. If a handover is not counted for several days, it will show in the circle's accountability report as waiting.
While the add-on is expired
Handovers are switched off. The circle is read-only until its Ajo add-on is renewed, so record nothing and hand over nothing until it is.
